The Ashgrove property has carried informal local reports since at least the 1970s, but Umbra’s file only opened formally in 2022 after a demolition contractor walked off the job mid-week, citing “not worth the money” without further explanation to the property owner.
Our team conducted two overnight vigils in early 2022. The first produced no anomalous readings. The second recorded a sustained six-degree temperature drop in the northeast bedroom with no identifiable draft source, consistent with several older secondhand accounts describing “a cold spot by the window.”
The property remains vacant. We do not have permission for further interior access and this case is unlikely to progress without it.
